calm elegance

Architect: Milk Architecture & Design

Our clients' Edwardian town house had already made it through 10 years of life with a young family of six. They wanted to refresh the decoration throughout the whole house and fully refurbish the grown-up rooms to give separation and sanctuary.

On the first floor the traditional layout and proportions of the rooms were maintained but they were opened up to one another to create a spacious suite with only a single point of access. This allowed a gentle transition between public and private spaces and privacy between bedroom and bathroom.

We contrasted the original Edwardian features with warm contemporary cabinetry to create a consistent look across the differing characters of the bedroom, dressing room and bathrooms. The result is a calm and sensory retreat.
