Nike, Paris

House of innovation 002

Architect: Hyphen Architects

Milk Structures were part of a multidisciplinary team lead by Hyphen and working directly with Nike internal design team on Nike Paris, House of Innovation 002.

Located on the historic Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris and comprises over four floors and some 2,400 square meters (nearly 26,000 square feet), Nike has thoughtfully curated and designed a modern retail destination that reflects the brand's innovation and Paris’ history.

Milk Structures worked closely with the Nike design team and the landlord’s team over a period of 3 years overcome many challenges and deliver this stunning project.  The final project is testimony to a fantastic team effort.

The numerous structural interventions include:

  • the creation of a 4 storey atrium throughout the existing building,  fabricated steel triple stringer staircases with expressed pin connections, changing direction as they fly through the atrium against a back drop of full height digital display wall.

  • a fabricated steel triple stringer staircase with cantilever tread plates & open risers from ground to first floor level.

  • fabricated steel stringers with 30mm thick ultra high performance pre-cast concrete tread & risers.

  • bespoke support systems for a series of digital installation within the building and on the façade.

  • fabricated steel mobile trusses to accommodate suspended interventions throughout the ground floor arena space and atrium.

  • lightweight mezzanine structure and staircase.

  • expressed steel & glass twin lift shafts rising through the building.
